Overview

Pusat Data Bisnis Indonesia (PDBI) needed a dashboard that would let registered users browse and access accurate business and company data, while also supporting a paid request flow for more complete, custom datasets. I led the UX process for this dashboard from initial user-journey mapping through to a pre-production-ready, validated design.

The Problem

The dashboard needed to serve a wide range of user needs on one platform — from simply browsing available business data to requesting a more complete, custom dataset under PDBI's paid terms, without an existing design foundation or validated user flow to build from.

Solution

I followed the same structured five-stage process used across my UX work: Mapping, Sketching, Deciding, Prototyping, and Testing.

  • Mapping: Defined the core user story, a user registers on the platform, logs in, and can access verified business data; if they need more complete or specific data, they submit a paid request under PDBI's terms.

The low-fidelity wireframe, place right after the Sketching bullet above.

  • Deciding: Iterated toward a high-fidelity design that was reviewed and approved by the product owner.

The high-fidelity design approved by the owner, place right after the Deciding bullet above.

  • Prototyping: Built interactive prototypes (InVision/Marvel) for internal stakeholder walkthroughs. Given the platform's confidential, business-sensitive nature, full prototype detail is kept private rather than published externally.
  • Testing: Ran qualitative pre-production usability testing, sized to a 10% research-standard sample of the target population, to validate feasibility before the project moved toward production.

Validation Approach:

Because this was still in the pre-production stage, testing was treated as a critical checkpoint rather than a formality, the goal was to confirm the design matched real user needs and surface any new insight before committing further engineering effort. Any gaps found were addressed immediately; once findings aligned closely enough with the original hypotheses, the project was cleared to move into production.

Note: prototype links/screens for this project are kept private per the platform's confidentiality, only process and outcome are shown publicly.

Results & Impact

Designed a business-data dashboard end to end, from user-journey mapping through a product-owner-approved hi-fi design

Defined the core registered-user and paid-data-request flow underpinning the platform

Validated the design through qualitative pre-production testing before greenlighting production
